Around 100 firefighters responded to a fire Thursday at the site of Pacific Dining Car, a historic Westlake steakhouse which operated from 1921 to 2020. The building sustained damage, but was not destroyed, with most destruction located in its attic and on its roof. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, no occupants were found in the building, and no injuries were reported. Pacific Dining Car was notable for its all-night hours and lavish interior — meant to resemble a restaurant aboard a luxury train — as well as its celebrity clientele.
